Spicy Cranberry Margarita
Margaritas can be fun any time of year. For the holiday season I like to spice them up in our
house and add cranberry syrup and jalapeno tequila.
Cranberry Syrup Simple
½ cup of sugar
½ cup of water
¼ cup of fresh cranberries
3 oz jalapeno tequila
3 oz cranberry simple syrup
1.5 oz lime juice
Top with club soda
Honey and sugar rim
Serve with fresh rosemary and sugared cranberries
The cranberry simple syrup:
1. Make the cranberry simple syrup by combining the sugar, water, and fresh cranberries in a
small saucepan over medium heat.
2. Simmer the mixture for about 5 minutes, until the sugar is dissolved, and the cranberries pop a
bit. Remove the mixture and allow it to come to room temperature.
3. Pour the mixture with the cranberries in a blender and puree it until smooth.
4. Position a strainer over a heatproof measuring cup and pour the fig syrup into it and strain it
well so there are no cranberry pieces remaining in the syrup.
5. Use the syrup to make your cocktail.
To make your cocktail:
6. Add the tequila, simple syrup, lime juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
7. Dip the rim of the margarita glass in honey and then granulated sugar.
8. Pour your shaken cocktail in your margarita glass, top with club soda and garnish it with
sugared cranberries, and serve..
