Pulled Pork with Coleslaw Bread Kone


It’s so much fun to find new ways to adapt my favorite sandwiches to be used in the bread kone. The flavor and texture of the bread kone is the perfect complement to pulled pork and that’s what I’m making today.


I like to make pulled pork in the slow cooker or oven, but you can also buy it pre-made and heat it up if you’d like. Since pulled pork is often sweet, I like to pair it with savory coleslaw for a little contrast and crunch.

Pulled pork can be kind of sloppy, which is another reason the bread kone is ideal for this type of sandwich. You add the pork and the slaw to the kone, which acts like a pocket, and nothing drips out! It’s so much neater to eat this way.

Pulled Pork with Coleslaw Bread Kone


This is a great new way to enjoy a classic pulled pork sandwich. I love to make a big platter of these before we settle in to watch an afternoon of sports on the weekends!

Makes 1 sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 1 ready-made bread Kone

  • Pulled Pork

  • Barbecue Sauce (adjust to taste)

  • Coleslaw


Instructions

  1. In a microwave or on the stovetop, warm the pulled pork. You can do this in a saucepan over low heat or in the microwave for a minute or two. Be sure not to overheat it; you just want it warm.

  2. In a bowl, mix the warmed pulled pork with the barbecue sauce. Adjust the amount of sauce to your taste. Stir until the pork is well-coated with the sauce

  3. Gently fill the ready-made bread cone with the barbecue pulled pork mixture. Make sure to pack it in, so you get a satisfying amount in the kone.

  4. Add a generous scoop of coleslaw on top of the pulled pork in the kone. The coleslaw will provide a refreshing and crunchy contrast to the rich and flavorful pulled pork.

  5. Your Pulled Pork with Coleslaw Bread Cone is now ready to be served. You can serve it immediately, and it's a fantastic handheld meal that's perfect for picnics, parties, or a quick lunch.
