We love a good sheet pan meal in our house. There is nothing better than really being able to make an entire meal in one fell swoop. Also, it always seems kind of amazing to me that the asparagus and shrimp cook perfectly evenly every single time. Roasting asparagus is one of my favorite ways to prepare it. I like how it tenderizes the vegetables without making it too watery. Similarly, when I use this method, the shrimp are always cooked to the perfect tenderness without being tough.
Be sure to season the shrimp generously before you place it on the baking sheet. This flavor will really carry the dish and everything blends together in the oven. There have been times when I’ve added a few garlic cloves to the sheet pan for a little extra kick. Don’t be afraid to do that if you want!
Then, assemble the shrimp and asparagus on the pan and slip it in the oven to cook. It doesn’t take long so I recommend having your plates ready and have everyone gathering to eat. When everything is cooked through, I like to let it cool for just a minute and then distribute it onto plates for eating right up.
If you feel you need more on the side of this dish you can always serve it with some jasmine rice or fresh buttered noodles. To add more crunch, I’ve served this over a salad before and it was delicious! This is one of those dishes that will very quickly become a favorite of your family’s and you’ll add it into your everyday repertoire in no time.
You’ll learn how to make variations on the flavors if you want to, and you can even try different ingredients like green beans. The possibilities are endless! Enjoy!
