Guacamole might be one of the most ubiquitous dishes of summer. I think it is served at nearly every restaurant in our area because it’s so refreshing and everyone craves it with a nice big bowl of chips in the summer. I know my family always likes to start a meal with chips and guacamole whenever we are out to eat! Today I’m sharing a recipe for Greek Guacamole, which is like the traditional version, but with a Greek twist.
You’ve all heard me talk about Greek salads and make many versions of them on my show. Greek guacamole is similar in that it contains all the ingredients of regular guacamole, but with the common Mediterranean flavors often found in a Greek salad. It doesn’t take much to give it this delicious twist, and it really makes all the difference.
I like to serve this guacamole with pita chips, or grilled pita cut into wedges. It also tastes great when served with fresh cut vegetables. I like to set it up in a bowl in the middle of a platter surrounded by crudite, it’s such a nice dish for a party, or even just a nice way to start a meal with my family. If I make it in advance, I store it carefully in the fridge so it doesn’t brown.
You’ll love this delicious twist on guacamole, I guarantee it. Make it a delicious part of any meal this summer, or just make it a much enjoyed snack everyone looks forward to. You can even dollop it on tacos, use it as a spread on pita for sandwiches, pack it in camp lunchboxes, or use it as a burger topper!
Add Greek flavors to your guacamole is, I guarantee, going to become your newest favorite way to serve guac this summer. Give it a try this week and let us know what you think! Enjoy!
