How to Make Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs

Writer: Nikki GlekasNikki Glekas

Today I’m sharing how to make Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs every single time. I love this method because you can make a large batch of hard-boiled eggs in just minutes. I use this when I make my Layered Spring Salad, Deviled Eggs, and when I make Egg Salad.

There are many reasons why you’d need a large amount of hard-boiled eggs at once. However, if you just want one or two hard-boiled eggs for a light meal you can easily use this method in a smaller pot and keep the times the same.

Please watch this video carefully to make sure you notice the details. Even the simplest cooking methods can be nuanced!

Hard-boiled eggs are used in many recipes and also make a great snack on their own. I hope you enjoy this method for making them. Let me know if you have any questions!

How to Make the Perfect Hard-Boiled Egg

This is the method I’ve sworn by for years. It yields the perfect hard-boiled eggs every single time.

  • Eggs

  • Water

  • Salt

Instructions:

  1. Put eggs in the pot filled with water to cover the eggs.

  2. Add 1 tsp salt

  3. Bring the water to a boil

  4. Once it boils turn off the flame and leave the eggs sit in the water for 8 – 10 minutes

  5. Remove the eggs from the water and add them to an ice water bath

  6. After a few minutes in the water bath you will be able to remove the egg shells easily and you will have the perfect hard-boiled egg
